Who is RKP Plays?

We are Anchorage, Alaska. We are theater. We like to think.

From our beginnings, with founding members Bob Pond and Dick Reichman, RKP has endeavored to be true Anchorage, Alaska, theater. Alaska is a unique place in the world, and Anchorage is a unique place in Alaska. We are independent thinkers who would rather get to know things on our own than be told, or worse, cajoled into thinking a certain way about pretty much any topic.

After all, 58% of Alaska voters are unaffiliated.

It is with this independent spirit that we search the world for theater that can inspire, confront and even challenge our points of view.

If we've done our job right, you will leave the theater scratching your head, debating with your friends and ever so happy to do so, thanking us as you leave.

One thing that connect each of us at RKP Plays is our love of travel. It is through travel we realize there are so many different points of view on our precious planet. Whether it was Dick's poignant journey across the continent with his family in search of home and purpose, to Audrey and Bruce's gleeful globetrotting, to Jack's exchange student experience to Sweden and his love of sharing Alaska with the world, travel has instilled in us the idea that we cannot judge what someone from somewhere else thinks. But, if we are openminded, we can learn from those difference, and feel better because of it.
